Such a messy thing to read about this possible McLaren-Renault partnership.
Renault will supply McLaren if Honda and Toro Rosso can agree on a deal. If no deal is reached, looks like Fernando walks and McLaren spends another year as a bottom feeder (sad!).
I don’t get why McLaren isn’t begging Mercedes for their units

Mercedes has already given McLaren a hard no because they know that McLaren would be faster than the factory team with the same engine.

I always wonder why they took such a gamble on Honda when Mercedes had been providing them with excellent V8s for years. Chances are Stoffel and Alonso would be mixing it up with the Mercedes works team and Ferrari right now if they hadn’t gambled on Honda.
At this point, I want Honda to stay on with McLaren in the hopes that they nail it next year, but it seems to me that they are so far behind that I don’t think it’ll even be salvageable until the next big change to the formula.
